Wow, the age of technology is catching up with couponing! I am actually very excited about this! I have had a few opportunities to use a “mobile phone coupon.” It was so cool as I just flashed my phone and scored a discount (you know like James Bond meets coupon mom!).
So what’s the deal? Well, Target is now offering coupons (their own store coupons) on your mobile phone! Just go to their site and register your mobile phone number and then you will receive a text message with a link to a barcode that can be scanned at checkout. The site says “The same barcode can be used for multiple one-time-only coupon deals throughout the month. Offers always arrive on a Sunday.”
I just signed up and received a welcome text that states I will receive up to 5 text messages a month (probably for the months that have 5 Sundays!). This is good to know because standard text messaging rates do apply. We do not have unlimited texting, but will definitely make room for coupons! If these are all just Target in-store coupons, you will still be able to stack with manufacturer’s coupons!
You can also sign up for text alerts for deals, and the weekly ad on your phone! Also, we are not sure yet if these will be the same Target coupons that you can print from online on their site or different (I hope different for MORE options!). We will keep you posted!
